“Stanley Kubrick is the Master!”

Welcome to Jacob Destree’s Movie Blog!

My mission here is to have an open dialogue about ALL kinds of films: the good, the bad, and the ugly. If you dig Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, and Steven Speilberg, this blog is for you! If you’ve ever heard of Ingmar Bergman, Akira Kurasawa, or Fritz Lang, this blog is for you. I love everything from “The Ten Commandments” to “The Matrix,” “Blue Velvet,” “Monty Python’s Holy Grail,” and everything in between.

I value your comments. Passionate opinions spark debate, and that’s what I want. If you enjoyed “Patch Adams” or “Mr. And Mrs. Smith,” let’s have a debate! If you would like to read about a specific topic (like why “Return Of The Jedi” is the best Star Wars movie ever), let me know!

To give you an idea of where I’m coming from as a critic, here is my personal list of Jacob Destree’s Best Films EVER Made. The List appears alphabetically.

  • 2001: A Space Odyssey – 1968
  • Annie Hall – 1977
  • Apocalypse Now – 1979

  • Chinatown – 1974

  • The Godfather Part II – 1974
  • Gone With The Wind – 1939
  • Grass: A Nation’s Battle for Life – 1925
  • The Holy Mountain – Mexico, 1973
  • M – Germany, 1931
  • Metropolis – Germany, 1927
  • Monty Python and the Holy Grail – 1975
